Apu Shahid, Writer and Director. Born on February 13, 1971, in Narinda, Old Dhaka. A house at the end of a narrow alley where cars can't enter. He has worked in various professions, from writing for newspapers to copywriting in advertising agencies, never settling in one place. He has been involved in theater for four decades.
He enrolled in university in various subjects and completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Bengali language and literature.
Plays and Direction: Chandidas, Haari Fatibe, Ishwar Path, Ajker Nora, Alor Opera, Yazid, Pashubad, Darshanik, Guptadhan, and more. He has also acted in multiple plays such as Markat Mamla, Janatar Rangashala, Joma Khoroch Eja etc. He has worked with the theater groups: Abolokhon, Nagorik Nattyangan, Nagorik Nattyangan Onsemble, Aranyak, and Ethic. He is currently a member of Abolokhon.
He is involved in writing, primarily a writer for small magazines. His stories, poems, plays, and essays have been published in magazines like Deshlai, Anindya, Anarto, Theater, Theater Front, Theaterwala, Manabjamin and various anthologies. Some of his published Books include Aporer Protima, Chaitra Bole Meghhe Jabo, Ishwar Path, Sarbojanin Nirabata Chukti, and more. He is also the editor of a four-volume anthology on Bengali theatrical thought from the last 200 years.
