TAAD’s Vision & Purpose

TAAD aims to represent theatre artists involved in stage performances and backstage activities across Dhaka city. Its core objectives include:

Protecting the rights, interests, and demands of theatre artists.
Enhancing welfare and mutual relationships among theatre professionals.
Improving artistic skills and career development of theatre practitioners.

The formation of TAAD was driven by the need for an independent platform dedicated to theatre artists rather than theatre groups.

Is TAAD a Replacement for the Group Theatre Federation?

Addressing concerns about whether TAAD is an alternative to the Group Theatre Federation, President Azad Abul Kalam firmly clarified:

“TAAD is not in conflict with any theatre troupe or organization. This is an individual-based organization, not a group-based one. Any theatre artist (actors, directors, playwrights, designers, backstage artists) actively involved in theatre for at least the past five years in Dhaka can apply for membership. Each member joins as an individual, regardless of their theatre group affiliations. However, they must be engaged in theatre-related work within Dhaka city.”

TAAD stands as a unique and independent organization, dedicated solely to the empowerment and representation of theatre artists in Dhaka.
