The Theatre Artists Association of Dhaka (TAAD) is a dedicated platform that brings together theatre professionals, enthusiasts, and cultural advocates. Our mission is to preserve, promote, and innovate the theatrical arts in Bangladesh. Through performances, workshops, training, and advocacy, we create opportunities for artists to thrive and inspire future generations.

Categories of Membership

General Member

Any theatre artist (actor, director, playwright, designer, background artist) actively practicing theatre in Dhaka Metropolitan for at least the last five years will be accepted as general member. The artist has to fill up a form approved by the association to become a member and after the approval from TAAD will have to submit the registration fee to complete the registration.

Lifetime Member

Any general member will be able to become a lifetime member by paying the non-recurrent fee specified upon the approval of the Executive Committee.

Honorary Member

The Executive Committee will select the honorary member based on the consideration of an artist’s seniority in theatre practice, experience, contribution, acceptance, having no controversy etc.

Duties of a member

To activate the decisions taken by TAAD and participate in the activities.
To provide wholesome help in TAAD’s initiative and endeavor of development and prevent the crisis in theatre practice.
To participate in the social welfare activities, fund collection, charity event and emergency aid initiatives.

Rights of a member

To receive all welfare facilities taken by TAAD for its general members.
To participate in the Executive Committee election.
To be present in TAAD’s meetings and provide free opinion, disagreement, proposal, speech and suggestion.
To receive the accounts information of all organizational activities taken by TAAD.
